Linda Peltola
(Born: May 7th 1984)

I'm a fantasy, fairy & gothic artist from Finland. I have
a diploma in Illustrating Children's Books from London Art College, but other than that I've just painted and experimented with different techniques all my life. Different art books are also a wonderful way to independently sharpen your skills.

I've always been a very independent worker in a sense, since after all, creating art is really quite far from teamwork. That was probably one of the main reasons why I became a self-employed designer and started my own company called Lindavision in 2006. I love my work because I have the opportunity to use my creativity to help my clients. My normal workday usually consists of creating layouts for print media, designing advertisements etc.

The rest of the time I spend creating fantasy art. Nowadays my fairy themed art has become even bigger part of my work since I have quite a wide range of postcards published and sold here in Finland, and in 2011 a Fairy Oracle deck & guidebook will be coming out. It is published by Unio Mystica/Delfiini Kirjat (Dolphin Books) in Helsinki.

As an artist I still have a lot to learn, but I see that as the point of creating. You can never be "ready" and I must say I love every step of the way, deeper into the imagination.

Life is a magical journey and it should be enjoyed with your eyes and your heart open. Following your own intuition and vision. Always remember to use creativity in everything you do in life, you never know, very often dreams will grow wings...

In my spare time besides art and handiwork, I enjoy nature, music, movies, poetry, village council activities and most of all, I love to work on my quite rocky and challenging garden.

It brings me so much joy, peace and inspiration. I love to grow all kinds of perennials and herbs in my tiny 5m² glass greenhouse and just admire the adventure and exitement that growing gives you. Nature can teach you so many things, and above all, patience. Here's a few pictures from my beloved garden. It's a neverending work in progress :)

My Favorite flowers are daffodils, delphiniums and cherry blossoms.

In my studio, I also have a very useful assistant, he's in charge of quality control and well, to tell you the truth, he's pretty much the general manager. He's quite a handsome little fellow, he likes to be called Mr Stripe. Poor thing works so hard that he often needs to take a little break...
